19:45 EVEtime July 23. I tried using salvage ship to sneak by and salvage wrecks. i was shot. TWICE. escaped in an capsule pod. Next thing i know, i woke up in a cloning vat.

20:32 EVEtime July 23, I tried escaping into a savespot and looked for wormholes with SpectreEnforcer and Spetretracker, in hopes that we can find an alternate route. Did not find any, just to be Ganked on return. Spetretracker did not survive

eve ship sizes

there are all sort of ship sizes in the game, from interceptors to battleships. Mine is tristan class, try to find my ship in the ship chart.(click for larger image)

there is over 5000 solar systems to explore, with an open ended style of play
i can be any class like mining vessel/ logistics/ combat support...

who knows? i might use my debit card to subscribe for the full game...

or i could farm enough in game money to get extension for the play time.

Review of nokia 5800 XpressMusic

i got a new phone last week(15 may 2009), The nokia 5800 XM. When i bought it, it was priced at RM1199(im using the maxis postpaid value 80 contract). People might think that touch screen is not very useful with short battery life, but having experiencing the phone first hand, i disagree.

the package given by maxis includes( clockwise from top) box, bimbit 1000 music downloads card, USB connectivity cable, Extra stylus, Plectrum(guitar pick)stylus,the phone itself, phone stand(under the phone), and a high efficiency charger.(i am wearing the wired headset on my neck.)



Trying out the interface- the touchscreen gives
a haptic response.it vibrates every time i click an available icon. its fun to use let me knows if i selected anything.
The telephone button lets me dial numbers available contacts in my phone. The button next to the telephone button is a contacts button.






The telephone screen.this uses an alphanumeric keypad as a default configuration.











There are four ways to write text a message out to friends.

the first one is the full qwerty keypad.For ham fisted people, this is not easy to use, and using it smudges your screen full of fingerprints












the second way is the mini qwerty keypad.












The third way is use the alphanumeric keypad. this method is widely known by most phone users.Dirty fingers not welcome.











The final way is use the handwriting method. dash back to delete and dash forward to blank space.easy to use. Stroke recognition is very impressive.




When done writing just press the green tick and touch the mail icon and it will send the message.





Speaker and audio
One of the phone's main features is the stereo speakers.(seen as the two silver slits between the battery cover and the body at the top and the bottom of the phone.) It blasts out clean music with respectable base from its speakers located on the left side of the phone. Sound distortion is minimal at loudest setting. I have yet to see(or hear) a phone that can match this in loudspeaker music quality.






Display and video-
The main highlight of the phone is the enormous screen with a ridiculously high resolution.
at 640*360, the resolution is higher than the N95 and N96.Its even higher than iPhone's lcd panel. although the display is not as bright as the iPhone and harder to use than iPhone under direct sunlight due to glare, it gives out a clearer and sharper image.(makes iPhone feels like cheap cartoon)
Looking at photos from a phone had never been such joy since the invention of ...color photography? videos can be played at a smooth framerate of 30 fps(maybe more, but i dont have any source higher than 30 fps).

Connectivity-
Externally, its has a 3.5mm audio jack used to connect to the wired headset and also any 3.5mm earphones(or headphones if you like).It also has an additional function- it serves to connect to a tv out cable.with that, i can watch the stuffs on the phone on tv. Internally, it has bluetooth,wifi and GPS receiver.
it is capable of operating in network bands of 2g ,3g,and 3.5g .
GPS Usage comes preloaded with nokia maps 7 days trial.

The Camera-
the camera is a 3.2 megapixel cmos sensor with dual led flash.
the camera did not perform as well as i would like it to be. it may say its 3.2 megapixel with carl zeiss lens, but the camera is plagued with poor low light images,high image noise,and no xenon flash.
the high noise in image is most likely due to the small aperture and sensor size.

it does redeem itself with a 30fps vga resolution recording mode, however ,and did perform okay when taking still images at bright outdoor situations.



Comes With Music-
This phone is not Comes With Music. and i suspect all malaysian 5800s is not. but i been given the next option. to have a card with a scratch and reveal code to download 1000 songs from bimbit.com. This sux.






Build Quality- The phone feels light yet durable, made of high quality plastics. but i wouldnt be doing any punishments on it anytime soon. It was not made to be abused. and i suspect, like any mid end phones, it will not last under abuse.I would have like it to be metal though. Guess you cant beat the material costs..


Conclusion-
I am totally in love with this phone. it may has its shortcomings,(camera, Choice of build materials) but its given me a chance to use functions that once only available in phones that costed over RM1700. videos are no longer a pain to watch in the screens of a phone and best of all, the expensive iPhone isnt much better than this phone at more than double the price.
VALUE FOR MONEY ALL THE WAY!!

i forgot about the battery- its a 1320mAH battery, about 1.5x times the capacity of a nokia n96. Yeah. its gonna last a long time.

Car accident again.

well.. i been busy recovering from a "minor car accident" cuz a "stupid driver" crashed a "lousy sports car"















onto my leg. i suffered "major blood loss" from my leg.















on top of that, i need to fix the said "car".

Dream Journal episode 2

Earlier this month, i lost a small plastic brace for installing the Hard disk.i found it today. The means of which i did was in no ways coincidental.Here is the story

Earlier this afternoon(11am something 18-march-2009), i took a short nap after i went back to my hostel post lecture.I started dreaming.The setting in the dream was also inside my hostel room

In the dream i was searching for something. I didnt know what i was searching for, but i kept on searching. I felt tired from searching and i went to sleep.
after that, i woke up, feeling tired. Thinking i woke back onto reality,i continued my usual schedule of playing computer games. Then something weird happened: i woke up suddenly back on my bed.

At first, i thought gaming session was a dream, and that i have woken up normally, but when i step outside my room, i woke up again. Deja vu, i thought, but thats not the case. this time, in my head i thought "ok... maybe the gaming session AND the waking up was a dream." as i was thinking that, my room's furniture arrangement changed. my computer table has switched sides with my bed.

immediately, i realised then that i really am still in a dream. i was experiencing false awakenings. Dreaming about waking ups.

i tried hard to wake up into reality, but was unable to. i keep waking back into fake reality. on my twenty something attempt, i gave up and sat around in my dream room. then look around for possible clues. then i searched behind my computer. i reached for what looks like a brace. i grabbed it, and it surely is my hard disk brace. then i tried waking up again.

finally, i woke up into reality. i felt...tired, as if i lacked sleep for days.
i mustered all my strength to get off my bed, and check for signs to know whether if i am still in a dream. "Yup, its real this time" i thought. and trying to remember the contents that i just dreamt, it lead me to search behind my computer again.

i found my hard disk brace at last. but cant help but think.. "What the fud was that strange dream?" It was not particularly lucid, but its too real to be a dream.

whatever it may be, its over now, ...at least until i can replicate this later at some point of my life.

Dream Journal episodes

My first attempt in controlled lucid dreaming started on march 11, and ended on march 16. most of the nights before march 16 was just random dreams that i could not recall; but on the night of march 16, i took note of the surroundings in my dream, and noticed that in my hostel room, i was missing a study table.

It took me venturing quite a while(in my dream) before noticing that outdoors was not kampar, but a totally unfamiliar place. Then, i had half-realized that i was in a dream, and walked towards a towering apartment with a roof view. i ran up to the roof and jumped. while i was falling, i almost thought i was going to wake up from the shock of hitting the ground, but as i fall, i felt a distortion wave( like refraction of rainwater hitting a glass window ) that hit me like an idea grasped the situation of my dream and started controlling my fall.

I felt light. like a floating kite. and i could hover mid air by just thinking about it.

i was happy that i am in control of my dream, because it felt like an enlightenment that is felt when you know you aced a subject.

i knew i would wake up soon as normally nights passes quickly while dreaming but i decided to wake up early anyway. In my dream, i focused hard on waking up, and closed my eyes. the next thing i knew i was awake,at around half past seven in the morning(march 17), up a bit earlier than intended. i went back to sleep, and had a normal dream this time...when i was up again, i missed school (overslept).

Dreams Journal

Do you believe in absolute control in dreams? I do,and its called Lucid Dreaming. These dreams are real, and can give the dreamer a sense of out of world excitement.The euphoric dreams are however rarely achieved by beginners because they do not know when they start to dream , and/or when they realize that they are In a dream.

i kept a dream record since beginning of march and this blog will hopefully , through my experience, enable readers to experience it.
